Denison

October 1st, 2009

I experienced a first on the Kindness trip.  I woke up to frost inside the bus.  Bogart looked at me as if to say, “aren’t we supposed to be father south by now?”  On to Denison University, another beautiful campus.  I drove around to give the bus some visibility, and then decided to drive back to town.  It was probably a good idea to go into town since just as I was leaving the campus, I noticed a security guard following close behind.

So I set up operations in Granville, Ohio, talking to people, listening to their views.  Then another total surprise.  I heard “Uncle Bob!”  It was Margot, my friend’s daughter.  It was great to see someone familiar after all this time.  She looked so happy and couldn’t wait to spread the word on the Kindness trip.

As I was getting ready to leave, a couple approached me.  I could tell by the slight southern accent that Bobby Green and his wife were not from this area.  Both were thrilled by the Kindness project and asked if he could visit a campus with me.  We set up dinner on Friday to discuss the possibilities.  Then it was on to Westerville, Ohio to visit Otterbein University.
