Staten Island Deja Vu

September 4th, 2012

9-4-12I came back to this welcoming place for the 5th time for a visit to FDNY Marine 9. I also came to be interviewed by the Staten Island Advance newspaper.
Rob at FDNY Marine 9 came here from his previous Firehouse in Harlem where 11 men lost their lives on 9/11. He is all about giving back and is involved in helping Wounded Warriors any chance he has. He builds homes for returning veterans.
Rob gave me a tour of this facility, primarily the “Fire Fighter II.” The name on the boat is from steel from the World Trade Center buildings. The Fire Fighter II is the biggest fire boat in the world. It can pump 50,000 gallons of water per minute and its main cannon alone can shoot 17,000 gallons per minute. Thank you to everyone at Marine 9 for the great visit once again.
Elio at the Clove Avenue Firehouse was taking me back for an afternoon coffee when they got a call to go out. It was my 2nd visit to this Firehouse, they also lost 11 men on 9/11.
Thank you to Deb at the Staten Island Advance for taking the time to interview me about my mission.
