Below is the Mission Statement for the Begun Center at Case Western Reserve University in the Mandel Community Studies Center building. What a jewel this place is in the City of Cleveland.

The Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education promotes social justice and community development by conducting applied, community-based and interdisciplinary research on the causes and prevention of violence, and by educating and training social workers, teachers, law enforcement and other professionals in the principles of effective violence prevention. The center also develops and evaluates the impact of evidence-based best practices in violence prevention and intervention, and seeks to understand the influence of mental health, substance use, youth development and related issues on violent behavior and public health. The center seeks to advance knowledge through dissemination of information in the scientific literature and attempts to bridge the gap between science and practice to inform public policy related to violence prevention.

I loved seeing this sign in Cleveland. It challenges all of those who love this town to profess their positive thoughts of this great city. Cleveland is truly The City of Kindness.

One very special place children in Northeast Ohio can attend in summer is the Gates Mills Nature Camp. This camp has about 80, K-5 campers and 10 counselors. It uses hands-on and discovery learning methods to explore the many phenomena in nature, science, math, art and physical education all while building self esteem and positive character in each camper.

One Million Acts of Kindness was given a stellar introduction to the group courtesy of founders, Joe and Carmela Hayes.

Thank you to all.

I love supporting great causes. One of these great causes, VeloSano, originated in Cleveland Ohio. Cyclists ride various, chosen distances to raise funds to help find a cure for cancer through research.
The two words combined as one have the meanings, swift cure.
Only great goodness comes from this event and organization.
Please take the time to check out www.velosano.org
