8-16

Thank you to the caregivers at the Early Childhood Services at the Mandel Jewish Community Center in Beachwood, Ohio for the invitation to talk with them about our mission. They are about to start their new school year and are excited about kindness being a key component in the children’s learning.
Even during my short visit I could tell how dedicated this staff is in caring for children. A first-class operation without a doubt.

The Interest of Children

Sunday, August 14th, 2016

8-14

Quite often, it is the children, who, when they are with their parents, urge them to find out what the Kindness Bus is all about. This young family came by to find out all about what we do and of course Bogart was the huge attraction. Thank you Henry and Emily for convincing your parents to come over and say hi.

Move Over Monet

8-12

Bogart and I are striking out on a new career, actually, an added adventure to our career. We are going to begin painting as we travel the country. I am going to create an attachment for the side of the bus which will enable me to paint “en plein air” on the favorable weather days.
All of the paintings will be abstract and very lively, with Bogart putting an added touch to the finished product. It’s our intention to sell these one-of-a-kind paintings to raise money to fund our travels. This is going to be great fun. I am looking forward to it in a very big way.

A Watchful Eye

Wednesday, August 10th, 2016

8-10

We dog owners wonder what they do while we are away. With Bogart there is no wondering at all. He waits patiently no matter where we are in the nation. I can open the door to the Kindness Bus and there he is sitting right at the entrance. I can walk by the front of the bus and he will poke his head up from the comfort of the drivers seat. While in Cleveland he loves to sit on the porch and look out the scupper until I pull up in the bus or pedal up on the bicycle. He always has a watchful eye for my well-being.
It is very easy to love Bogart.

Thank you to the Sag Harbor Express for the very nice article written by Michael Heller.

Independence Home Days Parade

Saturday, August 6th, 2016

8-6

I love when I get invited to parades because I know I will have a captive audience for all to witness the Kindness Bus roll by at a very slow speed. Twenty-thousand or so parade goers, along a one mile stretch of road, applauded and waved and some times give a standing ovation.
One of the local celebrities, Slider, the mascot of the Cleveland Indians made it a point to come over after the parade and pose with many people, including me, while raising awareness of kindness in Independence.
Thank you to the Community Services Department of the City of Independence for the invite to be in their parade.

The Written Word

8-4

Bogart and I went for a long walk and came across this awesome yard sign. I love this sign.
Words, whether they be positive and inspiring or thought-provoking, can help to change individuals for the good, in the way they view the world. I am a fan of any positive impact on anyone. The written word, can go a long way in making such a change.
