Joanna and Bert’s son Campbell has cerebral palsy. They found great peace in seeing a guy riding a bicycle offering comfort and compassion for those with special needs. They are visiting Naples, Florida from Ottawa, Canada. They embody the meaning of kindness and compassion. What loving parents.

Sunday, March 12th, 2017There was a wonderful response at the Saint Patrick’s day parade in Naples, Florida for the upcoming ride around the perimeter of the United States for children with disabilities and differences. As I rode my bike along the route there was a rolling applause from time to time, sometimes a distance a few hundred feet as I slowly rolled by.

Saturday, March 4th, 2017Consulate Health Care employees across the nation celebrated One Million Acts of Kindness during February 13-19th. Specifically, the goal of this campaign is to inspire people to achieve one million acts of kindness in their lifetime. We received stories from our employees at Edgewood Manor of Lucasville II who were caught doing something “just because”, and other staff members from Country Meadow who sent cards to their sister facilities, Whispering Hills and Crestline Nursing Center. Employees at Emerald Ridge held a week long array of activities ranging from a food drive, to baked goods and helping a charity. Staff at Oak Grove came up with “The Escalation Hug Week” to hug one patient and tell them why they’re special. By the end of the week, employees were telling seven people a day why they’re special! We want to give a big shoutout to the following care centers for their participation and stories:
Newport News
Oak Grove
Consulate Health Care of Norfolk
Consulate Health Care of Williamsburg
