Oklahoma City Visit

During my visit to Oklahoma City I stopped by the memorial to pay my respects. 22 years ago this tragedy shook our nation with the death of 168 individuals including 19 children. It was a very powerful visit, especially seeing the 168 empty chairs where the building once stood.

 

Santa Fe

I met so many kind people in Santa Fe, New Mexico. One of these individuals is Gerry from the Arc in St. Louis. Working with special needs individuals daily, she said the ROCK ride is invaluable to so many people. Thank you for the kind words Gerry.

It’s so great to see familiar faces along my travels, especially when those faces are those of family members. Visiting Cave Creek, Arizona I was able to do a bit of connecting with residents and visitors of this town while connecting with family. George who is a third generation metal fabrication shop owner in Scottsdale, shared his daughters heroin addiction stories with me. Years of helping to do anything he could to help put an end to it.  He said “whatever you can do to stop people from using, do!” He loved the Kindness Bicycle’s directness.

San Diego Food Bank

Riding through the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego this morning afforded me the time to talk with several homeless people and people who volunteer to help feed the local community. Marguerite works for an organization that lends a hand to a “smattering of groups” throughout the downtown area of San Diego.
