The Goodness in Giving

Valuable lessons can be passed from parent to child. One of the most beneficial for all involved is teaching a child the goodness in giving.
Shery and her daughter Ava approached me, wanting to donate books to children in need, Ava had a smile on her face the entire time. There is such beauty in the loving act of desiring to help another in need. Ava is learning it at a very young age. Everyone should have a mother like Shery.

Helping Veterans This Summer

Cameron and Patrick are spending a good deal of their summers this year, volunteering to raise funds for a local London Veterans home. What a couple of kind, caring young men, to stand out in this busy city and raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause.
They must have felt comfortable seeing the Kindness Bicycle and its signs while holding their “Free Surveys” sign. I almost asked them when initially upon seeing their sign who “Survey” is but I think my silly American humor might have been misunderstood.

No matter what time of day, or so it seems, this group of four, cheering teenagers are in this bus stop or on their way to it. It then realized to me that I have been such a creature of habit, returning back to care for Happy at the end of each ride everyday.

This is what role modeling is all about, parents being involved in a community need and their children choosing to do so as well.

“At Small Steps, pre-school.  children work on all areas of their development, using the principles of conductive education.  Children attending Small Steps sessions have cerebral palsy, other forms of motor impairment, syndromes or sensory impairment.” A visit to their website is well worth the time. www.smallsteps.org.uk

There is so much to say about this man, perhaps it’s best to read at your leisure on Wikipedia.

Just Be Nice

The children’s television series I am going to pitch this upcoming winter, The Blue Bird of Kindness, is all about the wonderful messages written on its sides and how those messages can impact all of our lives.
I am having so much fun letting my creativity blend into the endless vignettes which will be captured in the episodes.
The original pitch for the series will be titled “Just be Nice.”
