A beautiful place of peace, the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary in Newtown is where I spent the better part of my morning.
A light breeze, beautiful sky, hundreds of butterflies taking in the flowers…

6-29

Lyle, A young man from the Sandy Hook/Newtown area drove by blowing their horn and waving. They found a parking space and ran over to meet with me while I was out riding. This kind, caring young man is being bullied in a very big way. This needs to stop!

While in Easton, people from miles around received word of the Kindness Bus Tour being in Connecticut. We have been getting great press in Connecticut and this kindness mission is being talked about and embraced in a very big way. This group of girls and their moms are from the Newtown, Connecticut area. Between them they must have taken 250 pictures of the bus.

Bogart has been staying with my niece, Lauren during my 7 week loop out to Long Island. He is enjoying air-conditioning, ball chasing, probably too many treats and getting a little culture while in her care.

I headed north to Easton on my week long visit to Connecticut. Frank and Carole Lisi invited me to stay at their property when I met them this past spring in Charleston, South Carolina. The Moms of Easton group and the Easton Kindness group visited me in the small, bucolic setting. Beautiful countryside and beautiful people.

When your child is being bullied or made fun of because of a disability it is so very sad to see and so important that all of us to get involved in righting the situation. Piergiorgio approached me to tell me about his son who is so kind and caring but gets picked on because of his disability. This wonderful father is doing everything to protect his child and let him know that he is right there by his side to offer all the support he will ever need.
Thank you Piergiorgio, what a great father you are.
I invited him to write on the Kindness Bus in Italian, here is the quote:
“Se devi scegliere tra avere ragione o essere gentile, scegli sempre di essere gentile.”

Discover Nature

Discover Nature founder Nicole Inzeorose is a big cheerleader and supporter of One Million Acts of Kindness. She has classes for children and their families in western New Jersey, teaching them about wildlife and nature and of course kindness. For the past several years I have been visiting Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary where her classes are held. We had a great time interacting with the families, each of them choosing a quote and embracing as a family. All of them left with a renewed sense of being kind to animals, environment, and individuals in their communities.
Thank you for the invitation to your wonderful school, Nicole.
