Three Weeks From Today

Sunday, February 28th, 2016

This annual event takes place on the first day of spring. On this day, those who participate are asked to surprise someone with an act of kindness. You are asked to challenge yourself to do this act of kindness for someone you normally don’t associate with in your circle of friends. This event is guaranteed to create new friendships.

Be Kind 4 Ever

3-1-16

I made an announcement on Facebook a week or so ago that I had over 1,000 spaces on my bus I wanted to start filling in with quotes. Nearly a dozen people have contacted me since and I have now begun the process of adding some of those quotes. A student and his mother, who is a teacher at one of the schools I visited came up with the following quote: “Be kind 4 ever.”
I, of course added it the same day they send it to me.

Today Bogart and I headed to this very busy preschool with its 120 children and their caregivers.
These children were very active and had so much fun being read the Bogart book, seeing the puppetshow, listening to the poem about the unfolding heart and of course seeing Bogart in person.
Executive director, Teresa Lanham has already given me an open invitation to visit their preschool next fall. Thank you to everyone at this care center.

What great fun I had at this school. My sister, Mary Jane who is in Florida for a few days helped me with my program and with handling Bogart. She got all sentimental when she heard one of the students talking about that this was the best puppet show. That was my stamp of approval, for sure.
Nearly 600 students and teachers gave many compliments and high-fives as they left the room. I love getting paid in this manner.

This morning I spent a few hours at Calusa Park Elementary school in Naples, Florida. Wow! What a great group of students these were. They have been doing ask of kindness all your long and it shows. Everyone was so respectful and so complementary during our visit to their campus.
I was invited to lunch to be the guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of Pelican Bay today. This group of charitable individuals were all ears during my talk of how I got started on this mission and many of the stories about our travels. This is also a great way of meeting people in the business community throughout Collier County helping them become aware of One Million Acts of Kindness and the work we do.

Estates Elementary/Village School

2-23-16

Today Bogart and I did double duty visiting two schools in Collier County. We spent the morning at Estates Elementary school and the afternoon at the Village School.
The students at Estates Elementary school really love spending time walking around the bus after our programs. All of the teachers chose to pick out a quote off of the bus that they could use in their classroom for the remainder of the year.
The Village School is a very nurturing environment for the students at this private school. I did three programs for students, they were a most inquisitive group

Immokalee, Florida has five elementary schools in their community. Today I visited the third of these five schools this year. The students were very well behaved and asked all sorts of great questions of me. I knew from the moment I drove onto campus and saw our name on the marquee that we were in for one very special visit. It proved to be true beyond a doubt.
