12-12

Laura Elliot, WPVM on-air personality had me on her show Wild Heart today. We talked about some of the issues that are current needs in the Asheville area and hopefully some of the human to human comfort we can provide during our stay.
Thank you Laura for helping to spread kindness throughout Asheville.

Helping Hands

10-11

One of the biggest cheerleaders and supporters of my mission over the years has been my friend Mitch from Yellow Springs, Ohio. I admit, I haven’t been in the area enough to do this town justice. I wish I was able to stay for weeks at a time in this town but my travel schedule just does not allow. Every time I do come to town, Mitch is always there to show me the town so to speak and help in anyway he possibly can. There have been many great connections because of his helping hands. Thanks Mitch!

Yellow Springs Weekend

10-10

30,000 individuals, most of them in groups of families, were at the Yellow Springs Street Festival this past weekend. What a great crowd with a lot of support from the many people I know from our two previous visits to this small town. I know all of these individuals were able to see me out and about on the Kindness Bicycle as I positioned myself on crowded corners of this three-block festival.
This town always rolls out the red carpet treatment.

Over-the-Roaders

10-09

Originally, I would use truckstops to park overnight every couple of weeks or so. Because of all the activity during the course of the night, it’s hard to get a good night’s rest. There is a huge benefit though, the Kindness bus is always quite a sight parked amongst these big rigs, and undoubtedly leads to many incredible conversations. Nearly everyone of these truckstops I stop at, one of the truckers has seen the Kindness Bus on the road. I love this fact.
These over-the-roaders  are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. You just have to take the time to make the connection.

Looking Good

What does seven years on the road do to a dog? Just take a look at Bogart. The top photo I snapped seven years and two days ago, the bottom photo was taken yesterday.
Bogart is only a pound and a half heavier than he was seven years ago due to his active lifestyle, eating habits and of course all the pampering he receives from all of you. He is truly looking good.
I wish all dogs lived as long as their owners.

THE Ohio State University

10-07

This huge campus has something for everyone. My favorite place is the Oval. This green space is a place for people to lay on the sun soaked grass, play sports, make friends or promote a cause. Bogart and I did a little of all of these today.
Bogart and Kindness Bicycle were huge hit among the students. Many came over to meet Bogart and then ultimately had many questions about our mission. Every single one of the students have either personally experienced or know someone who has had to face bullying. Far too many knows someone who have taken their life. As always, the conversations are very healing and with Bogart thrown in the mix, very comforting as well.
